UN Rapporteur: Genocide in Gaza Continues Unabated

Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on the human rights situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, stated that the genocide in the Gaza Strip is ongoing and far from over. She emphasized that Palestinians themselves are the most aware of the unchanged reality on the ground, noting that most governments have failed to take meaningful steps to halt the atrocities. Instead, she said, many have continued to provide the Israeli regime with political, economic, and military support, according to paltodaytv.com..

AhlulBayt News Agency: Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on the human rights situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, stated that the genocide in the Gaza Strip is ongoing and far from over.

According to IRNA, Albanese also criticized major Western media outlets, arguing that they have largely overlooked the facts on the ground and amplified the Israeli regime’s narrative of the conflict. She stressed that urgent international action is needed to ensure justice for the Palestinian people, expressing confidence that Palestine will ultimately be free and that Palestinians will achieve their long‑denied rights.

The Israeli regime launched its war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, declaring its objectives to eliminate Hamas and secure the release of Israeli captives. It failed to achieve these goals and later entered into a prisoner‑exchange agreement with Hamas.

On October 17, 2025, Hamas announced that a deal had been reached to end the war and exchange prisoners. The following day, Israeli forces confirmed the implementation of a ceasefire, though the regime has continued to obstruct its full execution.
